Keeping safe - Deliveries

Update: 19/03/2020

As you know we are currently operating in uncertain times, although the one thing I'm certain of is the importance of employee's wellbeing and the ability to successfully run our business with suppliers and customers.

We are taking the recent outbreak of Coronavirus (Covid-19) very seriously and the Directors and Senior Managers are continuing to review the current situation. We are closely following all guidelines, recommendations and updates from trusted sources including (but not limited to) The World Health Organisation, NHS UK and the UK government.

To reassure you that we are well-positioned to manage disruption, we can confirm the following arrangements are already in place or in progress:

Staff welfare:-

  • Our QHSE team monitor daily updates on the Coronavirus situation from trusted sources including (but not limited to) The World Health Organisation, NHS UK and the UK government.
  • The decision has already been made to stop all work-related travel, external meetings events and non-essential site visitors to minimise the risk of transmission. We will be utilising technology to replace face-to-face meetings.
  • Wherever possible, home working and social distancing. In some work areas home working and social distancing will not be possible, however other measures will be put in place.
  • Advice regarding good hygiene practice etc. has been communicated to all staff and remains a priority in the workplace.

Travelling, meetings and self-isolation:-

  • Whilst we know that this may be a worrying time for people; our employees are encouraged to follow Government guidelines so that the health of themselves, colleagues and customers is not put at risk.
  • Health screening - is in place and this will be continually assessed for all employees and essential site visitors.
  • We will have the facility to conference/video call and this will be utilised as and when required.

Visitors to Clark-Drain site:-

  • All non-essential visitors to site have been stopped. Please contact us for clarification if required.
  • Health screening - is in place and this will be continually assessed for all employees and essential site visitors.
  • We would ask that all site visitors do not attempt to enter our site if they are showing signs of the virus or have had close contact with someone with confirmed Coronavirus or show symptoms.
  • We will have the facility to conference/video call and this will be utilised as and when required.

Supply chain management:-

  • Managing our supply chain to mitigate the impact of Coronavirus is a priority. Firstly the welfare of our employees is paramount and the rethink of our working practices outlined above is supportive of this. Reassuringly, current stock inventory is at a high level to alleviate any potential short term material outages. In the longer term, we will monitor supply performance - it's been Clark-Drain's business model for a number of years, with dependence on Multi-Sourcing from a diverse supply chain, including back up from 'second source' supply, if required, and UK manufacture of many of our core products.

If you have any specific concerns about service continuity or how our arrangements fit with your own contingency plans, please let us know. We will keep you updated as to when these measures can change and in the meantime we remain positive that as we all work together we have the ability to manage this challenging environment.

Thank you for your support and most importantly please stay safe!
